Kate’s Story

Kate grew up in a rural setting in the Wollondily Shire just outside of Sydney. She spent her youth catching yabbies at the local dam while also being ferried around to gymnastics practice and competitions. Despite her skills rivalling most 90’s Russian Olympic gymnasts, she knew she always wanted to be a nurse and was fortunate to study nursing at university. Being one of the youngest in her year, Kate completed her degree and began practising as a paediatric nurse at Liverpool Hospital at the age of 20, where she remains to this day. It’s at Liverpool Hospital that Rama and Kate’s stars collided for the first time! Kate’s greatest joy is spending time with her son (and a sneaky double cheeseburger)

Rama’s Story

Rama grew up on the Central Coast of NSW where he enjoyed a beach lifestyle and playing sports particularly soccer. Little has changed since these early days in this respect. Rama was fortunate enough to make it into the local selective school before moving to Sydney to complete medical school before heading into a career in paediatrics. Rama had Liverpool Hospital as his 10th preference to do his residency but serendipity played a clear role in him ending up there and crossing paths with Kate.

Our Relationship

Kate and Rama met soon after graduating from university before developing their relationship over these last four years following a date at Jamie’s Italian. They share common ground in their work and enjoy exploring the outdoors with their little boy Leo and dog Mills.

Rama has taught Kate to cook, and Kate is still teaching Rama to clean. Rama’s greatest achievement is his son Leo and his second greatest proposing to Kate during a holiday that she arranged.
